Manalisha Mobile Theatre Award Nominee Anounced

Announcing the names of nominee of Monalisha Mobile Theatre Awardee today Monalisha india Dot com a leading cultural organisation which is associated with providing financial and other assiastance to the theatre personalities including dramatists, actors and actress felicited 2010 -11 nomines of the award in a ceremony held at Guwahati Press Club. As announced Awahan Theatre, Theatre Bhagyadevi and Bordoichila get nomination for the Best Team category besides Maramar Barasha (Theatre Bhayadevi), Rudra Sagar (Rajtilak) and Pakhila (Awahan Theatre). The other nominee of the award are –Best Actor- Tapan Das (Rudra Sagar, Rajtilak), Akashdeep (Na Koinar Na Goon), Ravi Sarma (Loha, Theatre Bhagyadevi), Best Music Director-Palash Gogoi (theatre Bhagyadevi), Paran Borkotoki and Basanta Thakuria(Brahamputra Theatre) and Dibakar Deka (Rajtilak Theatre), Best Drama-Hal Biya uruli Diya (Srimanta Sankardeva Theatre), Awastha Path (Itisash Bharammyanmaan Theatre) and Life Amar Jamiche(Rajmahal Theatre), Best Director-Tapan Das (Rudra Sagar, Rajtilak Theatre), Abhijit Bhattcharjya (Maramar Barasha Maram Loba, Theatre Bhagyadevi) and Mukutmoni Saikia(Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Brahamaputra Theatre), Best Actor-Aimee Baruah (Pakhila Theatre), Pranjana Dutta (Awashta path,Itihash Bhrammyamaan Theatre) and Manisha Ragini (Maghat Mamonir Biya) and Best Dance Drama-Ashar Rengani (Manchajyoti Theatre), Senai Mor Dhulia (Srimanta Sankardeva Theatre) and Kukuri Kana (Rajmahal Theatre).


In the felicitation ceremony besides the president of the Monalisha dot com Krishna Roy(producer, Awahan), Nazrul Islam (Bordoichila), Tralokya Sharma), Monoj Borgohain (Suruj Theatre), Amarendra bormon and Avatar Singh (noted dramatist) were also present.


Metionable that the Monalisha dot com has been working for the welfare of the theatre personalities since its inception in 1962.

The Assam wing of the Students’ Federation of India(SFI) staged symbolic protestat Dighalipukuripar, Guwahati  on June 21  against the UGC’s recent decision to hold NET once in a year. The students’ organization rued that if the UGC implements its recent decision regarding the NET then a large number of students would loss chance to appear in the exam. The sudden decision of Assam government to distribute free text books among government aided school students across the state draws resentment from various sections including the All Assam Publishers and Book Sellers Association. Terming the move as disastrous for the book publishers of the state, GiriPad Devchodhury, proprietor of Bani Prakash urged the government to change its order. Dharani Barman, one of the trendsetters of modern drama in the state, breathed his last on Saturday at Chamata, Nalbari district. He was 93. The demise of the thespian bereaves cultural fraternity of the state. He was unwell for last few days.
