Dharna in Delhi for ethnic identity
Hundreds of people from Assam staged dharna in New Delhi raising a slew of demands on Monday.
Under the banner of Sadou Asom Goria Moria Parishad, the protesters thronged the Jantar Mantar at 11 in the morning and shouted slogans reiterating their demands.
Talking to reporters, the protesters said, "We want reservation in government and private sector jobs apart from economic package for us."
"Our main demand is satellite autonomy. This is the best possible measure to uplift us," another protestor.
The leaders of the organization further said that they would launch a massive protest if they fail to get measures to ensure ethic identity and constitutional safeguard.
