Steps to promote agri-horti sector

The Assam government has announced a slew of steps to uplift the agriculture and horticulture sector. This was what Additional Chief Secretary and Agricultural Production Commissioner, KK Mittal said in New Delhi on Saturday. Attending the ongoing World Food India, Mittal said the upcoming horticultural entrepreneurs of Assam would get all sorts of schematic support for development of value chain for the benefit of farmers in the field of agriculture and horticulture .

He met several Agri-Horticulture entrepreneurs, who participated in the World Food India, 2017.

On the other hand, Prabin Hazarika, Director of Horticulture and Food Processing, Assam along with Mowsam Hazarika, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Khagendra Sarmah, SDAO ( Hort )and Bakul Saikia, Senior ADO and Nodal Officer, FPC has discussed with Joost A W van Dalen , Director International Marketing & Acquisition, Province Noord- Holland , Nederland regarding technology support in the field of horticulture in Assam, at World Food India Exhibition, New Delhi today (4.11.17). They also discussed regarding export possibilities of Agri-Horticulture produces of Assam to Dubai with Rakesh Kumar Gambhir, Country Director, Government of Dubai. During the both discussion, they agreed to render all sorts of relevant cooperation in the respective fields.

Naoaki Miyauchi and Kaishu Endo of Endoseian Co. Limited of Japan has expressed their interest to import organic molasses of Assam from Jirsong Agro Producer Company Limited, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, Assam at World Food India , 2017 held in New Delhi.
