VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Students unions condemned

Police apprehended 22 students including involved persons with the unrully incidents yesterday at BPF party office in Kokrajhar. Students vandalise BPF office properties

Students, who thronged the BPF party office and Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar town after rumour of BPF would distribute money to students for admission and buy books turned to violent with vandalised of office materials and vehicles.  Thousands of people, mostly students and some even elderly women were seen making bee line towards the BPF office at JD Road and Bodofa Culural Complex at Chandamari since early morning around 7 am on Saturday.  Many came in hired vehicles from various districts of BTAD. A month-long free summer information technology (IT) empowerment for girls started from today at Nedan foundation conference hall in Kokrajhar. NDFB arrested

Police apprehended a hardcore cadre of NDFB(Songbijit faction) this evening from Haltugaon Balajan under Kokrajhar police station in Kokrajhar. The cadres has been identified as Swmkhwr Basumatary.  A 7.65 point pistol,a grenade and bullets was recovered from him, said a police officer.
