VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Displeasure over fund allotment to BTC council

The Bodoland Territorial Council(BTC) expressed displeasure over low fund allotment to the council from state share budgets as the council has been deprived from getting 12.19 percent as per population ratio. The council passed amounting of Rs 201668.55 lakhs(both plan and non-plan) for the year 2014-2015 in the council budget session which was concluded today with two day scheduled. PCDR unit formed

Kokrajhar district unit of the Peoples Co-ordination for Democratic Right(PCDR), a non-political organisation of various organisation and communities was formed with Suraj Mushahary as co-ordinator on Thursday at a meeting held at Banargaon community hall in Kokrajhar. 5 NDFB-S militants killed in Chirang

Police claimed to have killed 5 NDFB(Songbijit) militants at an encounter in Chirang district on Wednesday. The encounter took place with a joint police and army team in in morning  inside a dense jungle of Laimuti under Runikhata police station. Police further seized an AK series rifle, five pistols, six magazines, five grenades, 60 rounds of ammunition and Rs 1 lakh in cash were recovered from the spot. The slain militants were identified as C Rekha @ Rajib Sumpramary, assistant finance secretary,M Rojong @ Roslin Mushahary,commander of Laimuti area,Debanand Islary,Pwrmailang Basumatary and Raju Basumatary @ B Raidwng.  

Bodo sabha remembered Bineswar Brahma

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha(BSS) observed the 14 14th death anniversary of late Bineswar Brahma,former president of Bodo sabha, organized today in collaboration with Bineswar Brahma Charitable Trust at Chandamari in Kokrajhar. The Bodoland Territorial Council's Budget Session for 2014-15 gets underway at the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly(BTCLA) in Kokrajhar. Dengue campaign

The Bodoland Students Union(BSU) in association with district vector disease controll programme oragnised  a source reduction campaign on dengue in Kokrajhar town involving ward commissioner and villagers on Sunday.
