NDFB arrested

Police apprehended a hardcore cadre of NDFB(Songbijit faction) this evening from Haltugaon Balajan under Kokrajhar police station in Kokrajhar.

The cadres has been identified as Swmkhwr Basumatary.  A 7.65 point pistol,a grenade and bullets was recovered from him, said a police officer.

The Bodoland Taekwondo Championship 2025 began on Sunday in Kokrajhar under the aegis of the All Bodoland Taekwondo Association. Int'l Theatre Festival held in Kokrajhar

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. Thirteen plays were performed by renowned artists from around the world, in various languages including Bodo, Assamese, Nepali, Hindi, Sinhala, and Malayalam. The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.  Sheik along with his party supporters joined the party in the presence of huge party supporters and extended supports to the party.  'His joined the UPP party will blow a setback to the AIUDF party', said a political analyst.
