VDP Bhawan inaugurated

BTAD Inspector General of Police(IGP),Dr L R Bishnoi inaugurated the newly constructed VDP Bhawan at Kokrajhar Sadar police station complex in the presence of high police officers on Tuesday.  It was constructed from police welfare fund for the welfare of VDP men in the district.

Blast in Kokrajhar Reserve Police

A grende blasted and another recovered which were alleggedly lobbed by the National Democratic Front of Boroland (Songbijit faction) at Police Reserved complex at Dimalgaon in Kokrajhar on Wednesday afternoon. NDFB militant killed in encounter

In a fierce gun battle, a hardcore NDFB (S) cadre was killed at Auzar Guri under Serfanguri Police Station in Kokrajhar district today. He has been identified as Lakiprasad Basumatary @ B Laijam of Aflagaon (Singibili) in Kokrajhar district and 39th batch cadre of NDFB (S). Police sources said that three suspected NDFB (S) cadres came at Auzar Guri in a motor cycle where an encounter took place with the security forces. Militant killed, 2 others apprehended

A hardcore terrorist of NDFB (Songbijit faction) was killed and two others were apprehended in Parbatjhora subdivision of Kokrajhar district on Sunday in a joint operation by Army of Red Horns Division and Assam Police.  Based on tiptop information about presence of 5-6 NDFB terrorists near Gopaljhora village under Bagribari police station in Kokrajhar, Army camp Basbari launched a joint search operation in the area along with Kokrajhar police at 2.30 pm on Sunday when incessant fire from a jungle and saw 7-8 suspected terrorists running away. The Religious Minority Council (RMC), BTC Region on Sunday said that they would contest the next BTC election scheduled next year by putting candidates in 10 constituencies - five are open for all and five are reserved for general. Man run over by train

A man was run over by train at West point of Kokrajhar railway station this noon in Kokrajhar. The body was run over by a down train this noon around 11.30 am which identified as Krishna Biswas(20) of  Magistrate Colony, ward no.9 in Kokrajhar town.Kokrajhar GRPF recovered the body in presence of magistrate and sent for postmortem,said a GRPF official.
