NIA to probe BTAD violence: Gogoi

The Assam Government has recommended NIA probe into the BTAD violence where at least 33 people were killed.

Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in Dispur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that this is a fit case for NIA probe.

Gogoi said that his government has sought extra forces from the Centre apart from Cobra forces to firmly deal with the situation.

Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and  Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too

Assam has currently 1,167 private schools, excluding play schools, and 420 private junior colleges are in the state. Education minister Sarat Borkotoky told the House on Tuesday that the government permits a private education institute to start operations if it has own land. A private institute has to fulfill the norms under The Assam Non-Government Educational Institution (Regulation and Management) Act 2006 and Rule 2007. A child development programme officer of Khowang in Dibrugarh district along with an accountant of the same office got the real price of bribery when police caught them red handed on Monday.Police caught them when officer Leena Sonowal, and accountant Dilip Dutta acting on a complaint by Aganwadi workers when they sought the release of arrears.Around Rs 32,000 was recovered from Sonowal and Rs 50,000 from Dutta.

Dispur on Monday has asked the Darrang Deputy Commissioner to file a detailed report on the incident where nearly a dozen students were taken ill after they were administered JE vaccination on Monday.According to the district authorities, the students who have been undergoing treatment at the Mongoldoi Civil Hospital are stable and a number of tests are in process to ascertain the cause.The students told Assam Times that they came to feel dizziness and nausea after taking the vaccines.Health depatment officials said that it should not strike unnecessary panic among the school goers across the state.They told Assam Times that the JE vaccination won’t halt following the Darrang incident....
