Free medical camp for flood victims at Kamalpur

A free medical camp was today held at Borshil Girls LP School under Kamalpur revenue circle of Kamrup district for flood affected people of the area. The camp was personally organised by Dr. Akhtarul Islam, Rastriy Gaurav Award winner eye specialist from Baihata Chariali with the aim to provide medical services to poor and needy flood affected people of the remote area. About 600 patients from Borshil, Bamungaon,Bhaira, Chotshil,Kanikuchi, Borigog,Kumarpata,Kendukona and Maranjana villages were treated in the camp. Seven doctors namely Dr. Lakshy Pati Sarmah, Dr. Akhtarul Islam, Dr. Ariful Islam, Dr. Sajjadul Islam, Dr. Sayedur Rahman, Dr. Khairul Hussain and Dr. Iliasor Rahman rendered services to the patients. Medicines worth Rs. 70,000 were distributed in the camp.

A free eye check up camp was held at Borka Late Padma Dutta Memorial Library in Kamrup district of Assam on April 20. The Camp was organised by Dr. Akhtarul Islam, an eye specialist of Baihata Chariali. About 120 patients were treated in the camp. The main aim of the eye camp was to provide eye treatment facilities to poor and needy people residing in remote areas. One traffic police constable was killed and one civilian was injured in an accident today took place at Dalma gate of NH31 under Kamalpur PS of Kamrup district. According to the police sources one scooter bearing number AS-01/E-1223 coming from Rangia towards Guwahati was hit by one Tata Winger bearing no AS-01/CC-2573. in that incident the rider of scooter namely Liladhar Das (45), a traffic constable of Nunmati PS was killed and one Sadananda Kalita (35) got severe injury.
Kamalpur Police recovered a female dead body aged about 25 from Puthimari river in Kamrup district last night. The dead body was completly nude. The body is yet to be identified.
