Free Medical Camp

A free Medical Camp was held at Bhogpur M.E. School near Goreswar in Bagsa dist on February 17, 2010 which was personally organised by Dr. Akhtarul Islam,an eye specialist of Baihata chariali with the aim to provide medical aid to poor and needy people of remote areas. Total six doctors namely Dr. Lakshya Pati sarma, Dr. Tafik Ahmed, Dr. Manik Baruah, Dr. Baharul Islam,Dr. Nava Chakrabarty and Dr. Akhtarul Islam rendered medical services to the patients. About 520 patients were treated in the camp. Free Medicines were distributed among the patients. Facilities like eye and children treatment were also provided in the camp.It is to be noted that Rastriya Gaurav Award winner physician Dr. Akhtarul Islam has been organising such medical camps for some years in remote areas of Kamrup, Darrang and Bagsa districts.
