ULFA vs Zubeen

The United Liberation Front of Asom has strongly criticized Zubeen Garg for performing in Hindi at the Latasheel function.
In a statement released to media on Thursday, the outfit alleged that the artist has downplayed the appeal.

The Paresh Baruah faction of ULFA has warned Assam singers from singing Hindi songs in the upcoming Rongali Bihu functions and the organisers to desist from holding dances set to Bollywood songs.

Council dissolved, BTAD under Guv's Rule

Kokrajhar: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has dissolved the Bodoland Territorial Council on Monday following the expiry of its term amid speculations of a widening gap between BJP and BPF. Raj Bhawan issued the notification in the evening declining BPF's prayer for an extension following the COVID19 menace that forced the authority to countermand the council polls slated for April 4. Retired teacher passes away

Barpeta: Former headmaster of Juro Ram Pathak Girls' High School Himangshu Pathak breathed his last on Saturday morning at his residence at Gandhinagar, Barpeta. He was 87. Guwahati: Veteran Congress leader and former Bihar governor Devananda Konwar passed away after prolonged illness in Guwahati on Saturday. Konwar, who was also a senior lawyer was 83 who breathed his last at his own residence in Guwahati early in the morning. Patharkandi: An uneasy situation is prevailing in Pathorkandhi when a trader allegedly raped a minor girl on Friday.
