ULFA vs Zubeen

The United Liberation Front of Asom has strongly criticized Zubeen Garg for performing in Hindi at the Latasheel function.
In a statement released to media on Thursday, the outfit alleged that the artist has downplayed the appeal.

The Paresh Baruah faction of ULFA has warned Assam singers from singing Hindi songs in the upcoming Rongali Bihu functions and the organisers to desist from holding dances set to Bollywood songs.

Guwahati: A central draft allegedly framed to legalize the industries and factories in the economy sensitive areas is set to run into a hail of protest in Assam and other north eastern states. Drafted as Environment Impact Assessment 2020, by the ministry of forest and environment, the draft has watered down the existing rules to set up big,  medium and small scale industries on the basis of an assessment. Guwahati: A local court in Guwahati on Tuesday jailed a student a day after the Sivasagar police arrested him for making "objectionable" remarks against the government in social media which has gone viral. Identified as Deepjyoti Gogoi, a police team led by SP Amitabh Sinha picked up the Gauhati University student and rushed him to Guwahati where CID criminal branch arrested him under a few Sections. Guwahati: After 20 days of Lockdown to keep COVID19 at bay,  the authorities in the city of Guwahati are beginning to unlock phase I from Monday. According to chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, the shops will open only on one side of the road from Monday to Friday.
