Sadhana Das (69 years), wife of a benevolent social worker of Jorhat Jiten Das has left her mortal body on 21st June, 2007 at Dispur Hospital, Guwahati. She has left behind her husband, her only son Mr. Jyotimoi Das and her two daughters along with many other relatives.

Hiten Mahanta’s health condition marginally improved on Tuesday. But he needs more treatment at the GNRC Hospitals where he has been undergoing treatment for the last several days. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is preparing to recommend CBI probe into the Louis Berger scam where a Canada-based firm alleged to have bribed some ministers and GMDA officers for a multi crore water supply project in 2001.Talking to Assam Times, CMO officials confirmed criminal conspiracy in preliminary report of enquiry by additional chief secretary  SC Das.Acting on this preliminary administrative report, the chief minister ordered CID probe.
