Nabajit Das, Lecturer in Zoology, B.H.college, Howly participated in the 10th students' conference on conservation sciences held in Cambridge University on March 24 to 26 and presented a paper on "Bengal Slowlories", the only nocturnal primate species of North-East India. He also successfully completed a one month internship programme at Oxford Brookes University,Oxford from March 27/09 to April 25/09.Mr. Nabajit Das is an active member of Primate Research Centre NE India and at present doing PHD on Bengal Slowlories under the guidance of Prof. P.C. Bhattacharjee, Dept of zoology, Guwahati University.He is the eldest son of Ghanasyam Das and Bhagya Das of Palangdihati, Barpeta .
Along with the rest of the country in Assam at Barpeta district also the 64th Independence Day was observed with tight security with various programmes.
