Blood donation camp held at Barpeta
A blood donation camp was held today at National College of Paramedical Science of Barpeta which was organized by Bramhaputra Educational Society in co-ordination with Life Medical.
In this camp R. N. Chao, prof , Pathology department of Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical college and I/C, Blood Bank, FAAMC( Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta) and the Physician of blood bank of the medical college Dipankar Baruah explained in detail about the importance of blood donation.
The camp was conducted by Mukut Ranjan Das, secy, Bramhaputra Educational Society and assisted by Jagadish Barman, technical person of the blood bank department. A total of 25 youths from various parts of the district donated blood accordingly. Dr. Dhrubajyoti Sarma and Dr. Anupam Dutta, asstt prof of FAAMC, Barpeta also donated blood to make the people aware about the blood donation. The people of Barpeta praised both the organization for such type of works.

The timber smuggling business of Barpeta is not a new matter. Rampant timber smuggling is going on. Woods have been illegally transported during the early morning. But the forest department and the police of Barpeta turned deaf ear on this matter. In the wee hours of September 18 an over-loaded truck (No. AS-01-BC-5676) containing illegal timbers, which is about to cross the Dakshin Hati-Rayatpara connecting bridge (R. P.
