Bengali body demands CBI probe

The All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation (AIBYSF) and All Assam Bengali Youth Student's Federation (BBYSF) will stage sit-in-demonstration on September 7 at Dispur last gate in Guwahati demanding CBI probe into the Silapothar and Nagaon incident.

Speaking the News Conference held at Amala Bhawan in Kokrajhar on Sunday, Shyamal Sarkar, president of All India Bengali Youth Student's Federation and Deepak Dey, president of the Assam state federation demanded stern actions against incidents of Silapothar and Nagaon in the state.

The federation have condemned the Nagaon incident which had created resented among the citizens, said that it was created by some so called activities to indulge misunderstanding in the state. They accused of Chief Minister, who had well known about both incidents held at Silapothar and Nagaon, but yet he has been keeping silence into situations.

The Kokrajhar police have arrested a person for allegedly raping his daughter. The incident took place at Bhoomki part 1 under Salakati police outpost in the BTAD district where identified as Amjad Ali allegedly raped his 11 years old daughter recently. He was arrested in connection with Kokrajhar P. S. Case No. 589/17 U/S 4 of POCSO Act on the basis of FIR lodged by his wife. Investigation is on into the incident, said a senior police officer.

Yet another case of double murder strikes no less anger and sensation in BTAD areas on where a couple was found killed inside their house on Wednesday. The incident took place at Salbari village in Bongaigaon where the bodies were recovered inside their house. Identified as Ganesh Barman and his wife Pampi Barman, they were  found dead with marks of injury. Local residents told Assam Times that Ganesh was believed to gave killed his wife before he committed suicide. Police and local residents broke the doors and recovered the bodies.

The Kokrajhar police probing the sensational priest killing case claimed to have arrested the main culprit on Thursday.  Identified asMojinur Islam, he was caught  from Surjyakata under Bilashipara poluce station in Dhubri district. His name surfaced during the interrogation of three other accused involved with murder case.   The priest was killed on September 10 by 2 am at Soni temple near Kokrajhar railway station before looting away ₹ 2.5 lakh in cash from Debnath’s possession.
