Bigungasr Basumatary ranks in top 10 HSLC

The private institutions in Kokrajhar have once again stolen the march in the HSLC examination, 2017 leaving the government schools in a tight spot.

This time Bibungsar Basumatary of Barpeta Road Bodo High School spotted in 10th position top 10 rank in HSLC examination for the first time ever from Bodo medium background since 41 years of Bodo medium introduced in High Schools in Assam.

Bibungsar  scripted 96.66% percentage with 580 marks in all subject letter marks. The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU),Bodo sahitya sabha and several organization extended best wishes to him over his successful with plying colours.

 The ABSU will be confered Kamal Kumar Brahma Derhasat Bantha to Bibungsar Basumatary and cash 50,000 who has spotted in top 10 rank.The student union also announced to bear all educational expensive of Bibungsar in his higher studies. BTC administration announced to extend 2 lakh each those who stood in top spot in both HS and HSLC final examinations in BTAD region.

 The UN Academy,Kokrajhar, a private managed Bodo medium school has scripted 88%  pass percentage in the HSLC result that announced on Wednesday.  A total 141 student passed out of 159 appeared in the final examination with 95 students in first, 45 in second and 01in third division respectively along with 7 distinction and 20 star marks. Abir Basumatary of UN Academy,Kokrajhar got 558 highest marks with letter marks in all six subjects from the school.

 The Sister Margaret Nobel School,Kokrajhar recorded 76% pass percentage with 15 in first,04 in second division one distinction,three star and 34 letter marks. The Govt HS & MP School,Kokrajhar recorded only 13% pass percentage in the HSLC examination.

A total 41 student passed out of 299 appeared from the school with 5 in furst, 25 in second and 11 in third division respectively. The Govt HS & MP school had 40% pass percentage last year,but this year recorded only 13% pass percentage lowest ever in its successful rate.

Phwilaw Basumatary of Satish Basumatary Bodo High School,Simen Chapori of Dhemaji district scored 98 highest marks in Bodo(MIL) while Rakesh Hembrom of Bapuji High School,Tebitola Nagrijuli of Baksa district got 82 highest marks in Santhali language.

Krishna Gopal Basumatary, Director of UN Academy extending greetings to all successful students in HSLC final examination said that the academy was expected better results in this session which could not attain much satisfactory results. The school management was trying to script top spot rank in the state in coming days. ‘Even though students’ performances are high, yet much results are to be achieved’, Basumatary said. He has also extended greeting to Bibungsar Basumatary, who spotted in top 10 rank positions.

 Jayanta Kumar Roy, principal of Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School expresses his resented over poor show in HSLC result said that due to teachers’ scarcity and insincerity from government his school face lowest pass percentage. He has admitted over his school’s poor show in HSLC result said that the students who are taking admission are hailing from remote area,specially BPL background families hand to mouth.

 Most of the students are very margionalised who are not in a position to come class in regular manner,Roy said. He said that 27 teachers’ post including principal,vice-principal are still lying vacancy in the school since 2004.Even though the school authority has been intimate to the government over the matter, yet no solution step was initiated against vacancies.

 ‘There are 13 science teachers’s posts in the school in which seven only are existed and six are laying vacancy. Three of exited seven science teachers are involved with NRC duty. Three Hindi teachers’ posts and several assistant teacher’s posts are still lying vacancies so far in the school’,Roy said. He has urged government to take bold step while making teachers’ appointment in the school to make healthy educational environment in coming days.

Promod Boro,ABSU president,former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma extended their best wishes to all successful candidates in HSLC examination and specially Bibungsar Basumatary,who has spotted in top 10 rank in the state.They said that this time Bodo medium student seen in the top rank,which is first time ever in Bodo medium history.

KOKRAJHAR: Citizens in Lower Assam districts including  Bodoland Territorial Council  have expressed happiness and gladness having found resumed of internet services today after eight days blockade. KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections. KOKRAJHAR: Noted social activist, former leader of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and close associate of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Yamao Jwhwlao Brahma passed away on Wednesday night at a private hospital in Guwahati.
