Panery Police Station celebrates 100 years

The centenary celebration of Panery Police Station and Kali Mandir established way back in the year 1901 was held with two-days of colorful programme at the Panery Police station premises on October 29 and October 30. On the concluding day the programme started with lightning of lamps followed by sapling plantation and cleanliness drive by VDP members. This was followed by an interactive session which was anchored by Prof. Jayanta Chakraborty, Dept. of English, Tangla College. Senior journalists Bhargab Kumar Das, Mayukh Goswami, Additional Superitendent of Police Bedanta Prakash Borkakati among some other distinguished guests addressed on various queries out put forward by audience on media,law and social issues.

In the evening an open session was held which was presided over by Udalguri MLA and State Minister Rihon Daimari. The session which was anchored by Hareswar Kalita was inaugurated by Anupam Chowdhury, ADC Udalguri

A souvenir was also released on the ocassion by Dr. Keshab Ch. Dutta retired Principal, Tangla College.

A special felicitation was also given to VDP secretary Radheshyam Dutta,village headmen Ganga Prasad Sarma and cultivator Majib Ali.

Motiram Medhi Retd.professor Mangaldai College participated in the session as appointed speaker . Tridip Daimari Speaker BTC,Educationist Binoy Kr. Medhi ,social worker Bikon Ch. Deka,Suresh Tanti MCLA BTC. A cultural night programme was also held where Gitali Kakati and Dost Atikur enthralled the audience. Earlier on October 29 the main entrance gate of Kali Mandir was inagurated ,along with hoisting of 100 flags and a cultural rally.

TANGLA: In a major sucess for Tangla police apprehended five members of a gang of notorious petty thieves from Tangla weekly market on Friday. TANGLA: The Land and Revenue Department of BTC had suspended a revenue officer of Harisinga Revenue Circle Office on charges of graft on Monday. The long time allegations of a section of public that the officials have to be bribed to move any file where proven true after a video of a revenue officer(Lot Mandal) of the Circle Office caught accepting bribe on camera went viral in social media sites.
