Triangular contest likely in 64 Paneri LAC

With Assembly election is due on April 4 in 64 Paneri LAC,hectic political activites could be seen everywhere in the constituency. So far nine candidates namely- Durga Das Boro (Congress), Kamali Basumatari (BPF),Nanda Ram Boro (UPP),Swarna Lata Chaliha (SUCI) Prabhat Das Panika (Ind) and Dina Nath Das (Ind), Mahesh Chandra Sarma (Ind),Sudhendu Mohan Talukdar (Ind) and Bikon Chandra Deka (Ind) have filed their nominations in the constituency. From latest election activities a triangular contest is likely with BPF,Congress and UPP fighting neck to neck. BPF now seems to enjoy support of non Bodo communities while Congress is expecting support from tea garden communities while UPP has been supported by ABSU.UPP also seems to have convinced religious minority people making it impossible to give any early prediction. This will be a tough time for sitting BPF MLA Kamali Basumatari but she has been enjoying BTC ruling party's advantage. It needs mention that in the previous Assembly election in 2011, BPF Candidate Kamali Basumatari defeated Congress candidate by a narrow margin of 500 votes only.here are total 132,482 voters (male 68244 and female 64238) in the LAC.There are 164 polling stations in Paneri Assembly constituency out of which 28 polling stations have been identified as hyper sensitive,63 as sensitive and 73 as comparatively safer.
