ATTSA celebrates Children's Day in Indo-Bhutan border village

Assam Tea Tribes Students Association (ATTSA) Udalguri district committee celebrated Children's Day at Orangajuli tea garden in Udalguri district on November 14 with day long programme on the occassion of 126th birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.The programme was jointly organised by Garuajhar and Orangajuli anchalik committee of ATTSA. The hoisting of ATTSA flag by Deep Tanti, president of Garuajhar anchalik committee of ATTSA at 9 am marked the beginning of the celebration followed by various sports,cultural and literary activities for children. The open session was held at 4 pm which was presided over by Ranjit Tanti, president,Udalguri district committee.On the occassion ATTSA district president requested all to follow footprints of all great leaders of Mother India.He also stressed the need for maintaining communal harmony and peace among various ethinic groups of Assam.The programme was also attended by Anupam Choudhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udalguri district in the evening. The celebration in the remote India-Bhutan border village in trouble torned Udalguri district has been considered to be positive step towards unity and harmony among different groups of people of Assam.
