NDFB (S) cadre arrested

At a time when Republic day is round the corner and security have been beefed up across the country. A team of Assam Police and Paramilitary forces nabbed a NDFB (S) cadre at Khoirbari on January 11 last. Police
also recovered a country made grenade from his possession. The cadre has been identified as Rituraj Basumatari (18) a resident of Paschim Patola under Khoirabari PS.

Gang of petty thieves apprehended

TANGLA: In a major sucess for Tangla police apprehended five members of a gang of notorious petty thieves from Tangla weekly market on Friday. Acting on a tip off, a team of Tangla police nabbed the members of the gang identified as Rajendra Rajbongshi(19),Ajoy Pujari(19),Siba Pariga(21),Ashok Tanti(28) residents of Hattigarh TE under Harisinga P.S while Binod Nayak(25) is a resident of Teliapara under Panery P.S in Udalguri. Revenue officer suspended for graft

TANGLA: The Land and Revenue Department of BTC had suspended a revenue officer of Harisinga Revenue Circle Office on charges of graft on Monday. The long time allegations of a section of public that the officials have to be bribed to move any file where proven true after a video of a revenue officer(Lot Mandal) of the Circle Office caught accepting bribe on camera went viral in social media sites. Reportedly, the revenue officer, identified as one Numal Daimari had allegedly accepted bribe of Rs. 10,000 from a person for registration of land.   TANGLA: The Public Health Department of Udalguri has taken up a unique initiative to empower the women of the region by conducting a training programme on Women Mason under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) .
