Rs 288 cr for NRC

The Centre has sanctioned a huge amount of Rs 288 crore fund to update the NRC within a period of 3 years.

This was what the government told the Supreme Court on Monday. The Centre disclosed the figure when the top court was resuming the hearing of a PIL filed by the Assam Public Works.

The Supreme Court was satisfied with the preliminary works to update the NRC and fixed the next hearing date on August 4.
