NDFB (S) cadre arrested

At a time when Republic day is round the corner and security have been beefed up across the country. A team of Assam Police and Paramilitary forces nabbed a NDFB (S) cadre at Khoirbari on January 11 last. Police
also recovered a country made grenade from his possession. The cadre has been identified as Rituraj Basumatari (18) a resident of Paschim Patola under Khoirabari PS.

TANGLA: The Public Health Department of Udalguri has taken up a unique initiative to empower the women of the region by conducting a training programme on Women Mason under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) . The programme was initiated with the help of two Self Help Groups viz.   TANGLA: In a tragic incident, a mother and her son got electrocuted by unauthorized electric cable laid by villagers to deter the wild elephants at Majuligrant village along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri on Sunday morning. Elderly homeless couple rescued at Tangla

TANGLA:  In an unique initiative that is bound to restore faith in humanity, a homeless, ailing sexagenarian couple were rescued and nursed back to health by a group of youths at Tangla in Udalguri district on Friday.The youths,found the helpless duo namely Babu Boro(63) and his wife Joya Boro(60) living a hand-to-mouth life in a rickety room at Tangla Stadium for the past couple of months. Mob assault youth in Kalaigaon
