Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is on a day long visit to Patna where he attended Nitish Kumar’s swearing in ceremony on Sunday. Accompanied by APCC president Anjan Dutta, Gogoi arrived in Patna airport to be received by senior Congress leaders in Bihar at 3 in the afternoon.
Then the duo straightly left for the Raj Bhawan where governor Keshari Nath Tripathi administered Kumar along with 22 others oath of office and secrecy. Gogoi got high command’s order on Friday to attend the ceremony as the party would support JD-U to form the new government. The West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee also was present in the function. This is for the fourth time Kumar took oath as Bihar chief minister.
Kumar put in his papers last year owning moral responsibility for the party’s poll debacle and the party elected Jitin Ram Majhi replaced Kumar. But the party mired in internal rife where Manjhi had to quit three days back paving way for Kumar to reelect as chief minister. Kumar will have to prove his majority on March 15 where RJD and Congress would give him support. Sources told Assam Times that Congress and RJD are expected to join the Kumar government after the floor test.
After the swearing in ceremony Gogoi talked to Kumar along with senior Congress leaders. Senior JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav and RJD boss Lalu Yadav skipped the ceremony duo to a family wedding ceremony.
