NDFB (S) cadre arrested

At a time when Republic day is round the corner and security have been beefed up across the country. A team of Assam Police and Paramilitary forces nabbed a NDFB (S) cadre at Khoirbari on January 11 last. Police
also recovered a country made grenade from his possession. The cadre has been identified as Rituraj Basumatari (18) a resident of Paschim Patola under Khoirabari PS.

Udalguri AGP conducted mass signature campaign against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, in Tangla on Sunday. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 seeks to grant Indian citizenship to illegal migrants who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians, who came from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to the country till December 31, 2014.  “The proposed Bill will exterminate the indigenous ST, SC and other ethnic communities of Assam and reduce the indigenous people of the State into minorities,” said President of Udalguri, AGP Jatin Kumar Deka.
