Who is BJP's CM candidate: Gaurav

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s entry into BJP will put the people in utter confusion over the chief ministerial candidate.

Hours after Dr Sarma unofficially joined BJP, Gogoi said that if Sarma is made the chief ministerial candidate then what is in store for Sarbananda Sonowal and Siddharth Bhattacharya.

Talking to reports Gogoi  wondered why and how Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma joined BJP a day after he was proud of his party’s victory in the Tiwa autonomous council polls.

GUWAHATI:The more officers are believed to have been preparing to surrender before police probing the APSC scam where altogether 22 officers have already been arrested. According to sources, Nishamoni Deka, Rumi Saikia and Rakesh Gupta are likely to surrender at any moment from now one week after they went underground. Early in the morning, Mushalpur circle officer Raharshi Sen Deka surrendered before the police at Kahilipara in Guwahati to be immediately arrested. Later in the day, he would be produced before the special judge who remanded other 20 officers to 14 days police custody.

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court will decide on the fate of Akhil Gogoi who has been languishing in Dibrugarh Central Jail under the National Security Act. On hearing a bail moved on behalf of the KMSS leader on Friday, a single bench of Justice AC Bujorbaruah asked the government to clear its position by November 21. The security forces engaged in counter insurgency operation in BTAD areas claimed to have arrested yet another NDFB(S) rebels from Chirang district on Saturday.
