Why Himanta joins BJP now

Why Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is in a haste to join BJP? Political observers are straight in their comments. He is  believed to have unofficially joined BJP in the face of two huge scams that put him in dire straights.

Very recently, BJP parliamentary board called him the key suspect in the Louis Berger scam only a month back. A CID enquiry is in progress which will unearth the real story.

The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the chit fund scam has already grilled Dr Sarma on the basis of the purported letter by Saradha chief Sudipto Sen. CBI has yet to file the charge-sheet.

Really? Has he ever been proven to be involved in any scam? Ever ever in his long lasting career so far?? Is he not one of the cleanest politicians and most efficient too. Stop you propaganda please.

Now that he joined bjp to save himself for all the scams it will be all the more difficult to prove. He is an opportunist and that's what we don't like. It was bjp who was most vocal about his corruption. Why have they accepted him now? Shouldn't  Assam produce more leaders? He already has enough: TV channel, newspaper, guest house, stashed cash and what not. We need honest leaders not tainted. You are spreading the propaganda. Bada aya.

Basking with the massive win in Delhi the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) has wished to contest in next Assam assembly elections to be held in 2021. Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity(KMSS)leader Akhil Gogoi has called upon the peiople of Assam to protest against the controversial Citizenship(Amendment) Act unitedly. A section of people of Assam fumed at a recent comment made by AASU's general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi. Mr. Gogoi while delivering a speech at an anti-CAA rally at Lakhimpur said that the the AASU, the Asom Sahitya Sabha and the Srimanta Shankardeva Sangha are not above the people of Assam. This comment has created huge controversy across the state. However, some have argued that the AASU leader did not pass any derogatory comment on the Srimanta Shankardeva Sangha, the largest socio-cultural and religious organisation of the North-east India.
A large number of scholars and academics across the country have expressed shock at the NIA's action on IIT-G professor Arupjyoti Saikia, who is under scanner of the NIA. The NIA quizzed the professor on charges of inciting violence during the anti-CAA protest on December 11, 2020. Expressing anguish at the development these scholars and academics have written an open letter. The signitaries include noted historian Dr. Ramchandra Guha, prominent political thinker Pratap Bhanu Mehta, among others. Several organisations including the ASDC have jointly organised a protest against Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 at Diphu on February 3, 2020. In a press release the organistions appealed the people of all-walks to take part in the protest, terming the newely amended citizenship Act is a sinister game-plan to uproot indigenious populace of the state from their own land. The protesting organisations fumed that the controversial Act would compeletly annihilate the indigeneous people's language and culture.
Arupjyoti Saikia, a faculty of Social Science and Humanities Department of the IIT Guwahati, was on Saturday reportedly, interrogated by the NIA for his alleged violation of the newley amended citizenship laws of the country. Mr. Saikia was summoned to the National Investigation Agency's office located at Sonapur, outskirts of Guwahati, where he was quizzed by the agency for sometime. A researcher on the Brahmaputra river and alumnous of the Delhi Univerisity, Mr. Saikia had pursued extensive study on the forests of Assam also. A group of ASSU and AJYCP activists today waved black flags to minister Dr. Himanata Biswa Sarma. They were protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment)Act in front of the Nurul Amin Stadium when the minister was on his way to the district headquarters to hoist the National flag. The protesters showed blacks to his convoy shouting “Jay aai Asom” slogan. The police detained some protesters and took away them to nearest police station.
Three bomb blasts today rocked Sonari (Charaideo district) and Dibrugarh town. As per information received here around 8 am two motor cycle-borne miscreants hurled grenade at a shop in Teokghat locality of Sonari sending shock- waves across the locality. No casuality in the attack is reported so far. Later, senior police officials reached the spot. Investigation is going on, police infomed media. Ranjan Daimary, the prime convict of the Oct'30 serial bomb blast and the chief of NDFB was released from jail today. The dreaded leader of the NDFB was sentenced for life by a CBI special court a few years ago. The Guwahati granted him a four-week bail for taking part in peace-talks with the Centre. The Union Home ministry and the state government had submitted no objection certificates in the High Court. Based on these the High Court granted Daimary bail. Meanwhile, the Centre has started peace-talks with all the fractions of the NDFB.
