Why Himanta joins BJP now

Why Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is in a haste to join BJP? Political observers are straight in their comments. He is  believed to have unofficially joined BJP in the face of two huge scams that put him in dire straights.

Very recently, BJP parliamentary board called him the key suspect in the Louis Berger scam only a month back. A CID enquiry is in progress which will unearth the real story.

The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the chit fund scam has already grilled Dr Sarma on the basis of the purported letter by Saradha chief Sudipto Sen. CBI has yet to file the charge-sheet.

Really? Has he ever been proven to be involved in any scam? Ever ever in his long lasting career so far?? Is he not one of the cleanest politicians and most efficient too. Stop you propaganda please.

Now that he joined bjp to save himself for all the scams it will be all the more difficult to prove. He is an opportunist and that's what we don't like. It was bjp who was most vocal about his corruption. Why have they accepted him now? Shouldn't  Assam produce more leaders? He already has enough: TV channel, newspaper, guest house, stashed cash and what not. We need honest leaders not tainted. You are spreading the propaganda. Bada aya.

Newly elected Asom Sahitya Sabha President Kula Saikia has opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act. Saikia, who retired as Assam DGP in November 2019, said that the Act could not be accepted. Speaking to media he pointed out the people of Assam including the apex literary body of the state have been protesting against the Act since 2018. “This very Act is unacceptable,”he said. The Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad(AJYCP) will move to Supreme Court of India seeking Inner Line Permit system for Assam. The organistion will file a petition in the Apex court shortly. The city police arrested an ULFA(I) cadre on last night from the Panjabari locality. Acting on a tip-off the police nabbed him from near the Srimanta Shankardeva Kalakeshtra at around 9pm. According to police the cadre has been identified as Bitopan Sonowal of Dibrugarh. He came the city for  subversive activities on or before the arrival of PM Narendra Modi, sources revealed. Today, a local court remanded him for two days police custody.
The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has appealed the people of Assam to pay respect to six anti-CAA martyrs on Wednessday evening by lighting earthen lamp. The Students' outfit has said, “We appeal all household to light earthen lamp on the evening of January 1, 2020 infront their houses as a mark of respect to the six people who laid their lives for our language, culture and diversity.” On December 12 last six people including an adolscent were shot to death by police in different parts of Guwahati on charges of involving with violent protest. Guwahati: Senior journalist Pranabjit Doloi has passed away Monday afternoon (around 5.30 pm on 30 December 2019) in a private hospital. He was suffering from liver related ailments for some time. Started his career in the Sentinel group as a reporter Doloi later worked for satellite news channels including Dy365, Frontier TV, NewsTimeAssam and NewsNetwork. He also earned applauses as a documentary filmmaker. Doloi (50) left behind wife, only son with other relatives and well-wishers.
