The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the chit fund scam has already grilled Dr Sarma on the basis of the purported letter by Saradha chiefSudipto Sen. CBI has yet to file the charge-sheet.

Now that he joined bjp to save himself for all the scams it will be all the more difficult to prove. He is an opportunist and that's what we don't like. It was bjp who was most vocal about his corruption. Why have they accepted him now? Shouldn't Assam produce more leaders? He already has enough: TV channel, newspaper, guest house, stashed cash and what not. We need honest leaders not tainted. You are spreading the propaganda. Bada aya.

DIBRUGARH: Amid statewide anxiety and fear the five year old girl from Jorhat tested negative at the regional laboratory in Lahowal on Saturday night. Earlier, JMCH on Saturday morning has referred her and parents for confirmation suspecting it an infection of COVID19 in view of her cough and fever. In an order issued on Thursday, the government said that all visitors/tourist inner line permits stand cancelled with immediate effect.

Guwahati: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election, scheduled for 4 April next, has been postponed indefinitely. State Election Commissioner Alok Kumar on Friday informed that the polling for the council is being deferred in the wake of coronavirus outbreak in the country.
