Pillai panel for Bodoland issue

The Centre has set up a panel to look into the separate Bodoland demands. Former Union home secretary GK Pillai would study the Bodoland demands.

The decision was taken at a meeting between Union home ministry officials and BPF leaders in New Delhi on Thursday. The panel would submit its report by the next nine months.

BPF leaders told Assam Times that they were happy with the decision and that the report would pave the way for a separate Bodoland.
