Centre for Koch Rajbanshi Studies and Development (CKRSD) invites print media journalists of dailies to apply for the Koch Media fellowship 2013 on “Koch Rajbanshi: Past and Present in Assam and North Bengal”. The total number of fellowship is 3 (three). The fellowship will be awarded to candidates who respect ethnic issues and nationalism and are willing to write outputs based on research and primary field studies.
The Fellowship will run for two month from October 15, 2013 to December16, 2013. Each fellow will be provided with necessary guidance and network support by CKRSD to develop their reporting. Based on their research and primary field trip, selected fellows must produce 1) one in dept reporting (not less than1000 word) to be carried out in the front page (page 1) and 2)A ‘simple report’ at the end of the process documenting the contacts they made and what was challenging including photographs from the field studies and other documents they have collected during their work.
Centre for Koch Rajbanshi Studies and Development (CKRSD) is a non-profit charitable organization which aims to promote and encourage research, studies of and on the Koch Rajbanshi community, their culture, history, language and society. CKRSD also aims to work and dedicate itself for the all-round development of the Koch Rajbanshi people. CKRSD’s prime focus area is Koch Rajbanshi studies and their development, but its vision is to include everyone in its mission to serve these neglected people of South Asia.

Bajali in the lower Assam has become the 34th district of the state, after governor Jagdish Mukhi issued a notification in the regard. In the notification governor has stated the newly formed district would include all the areas of the former Bajali Sub-division of Barpeta district. The headquarters of the new district would be Madan Rauta Nagar in Pathsala, the notification says. The Government has upgraded the civil Sub-division into a district in order to expedite government developmental and administrative works.
