Dr. Dipshikha Bhagawati's new book "Literature and Film: From Mute to Motion" was launched at a ceremony held at the Rudra Barua Auditorium in Guwahati. The book was introduced by scriptwriter Akash Aditya Lama at the ongoing Chalachitram National Film Festival, which also featured the presence of notable film critic Utpal Datta and other film enthusiasts.
Dr. Bhagawati holds a Master's degree in English literature from the North-east Hill University (NEHU) and has completed a PhD on TS Eliot, a renowned 20th century English poet. In addition to being an English teacher at an Assam government higher secondary school, she is a prolific writer on literary and film topics for various publications and a skilled translator and short story writer.
Dr. Bhagawati's new book features her criticism of 15 films adapted from literary works.
