Very happy to know that the association is continuing to do well and growing. I had the privilege of being the President of the association around 1981-82 when I was a Professor of IIT-Madras ( now Chennai). During Assam Movement, we published the Brahmaputra Beckons. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Sunday laid the foundation stone of the state’s first ever horticulture college in at a function in Nalbari.In his address at the function presided over by agriculture minister Nilomoni Sendeka, Gogoi hoped that the college would help the state bring a boomtime in horticulture.Deka said that the government has sanctioned Rs 25 crore for the college and that the session of the college would begin soon. AGP leader and former MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami on Sunday quit the regional party.Gowasmi, the three time party legislator from Jorhat Assembly constituency has already sent his resignation letter as the party’s primary member to president Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.Goswami sent the resignation letter a day after he met the party members in Jorhat on Saturday.
