NDFB(S) cadres nabbed

In a major achievement,Udalguri police and Army in a joint operation nabbed two hardcore NDFB(S) cadres from Mazbat area of Udalguri on Friday. The duo are prime accused in the 2014 Adivasi killings in Sonitpur district. The apprehended have been identified as Jahan Mochshary @ Jiskel Mochsahary (30) and Jourwn Daimari(30) . Jahan is a 35th batch NDFB cadre and reportedly in most wanted list of by National Investigation Agency vide case RC-04/2014/NIA-GUW. The police are interrogating the rebels at Udalguri PS.

Gang of petty thieves apprehended

TANGLA: In a major sucess for Tangla police apprehended five members of a gang of notorious petty thieves from Tangla weekly market on Friday. Acting on a tip off, a team of Tangla police nabbed the members of the gang identified as Rajendra Rajbongshi(19),Ajoy Pujari(19),Siba Pariga(21),Ashok Tanti(28) residents of Hattigarh TE under Harisinga P.S while Binod Nayak(25) is a resident of Teliapara under Panery P.S in Udalguri. Revenue officer suspended for graft

TANGLA: The Land and Revenue Department of BTC had suspended a revenue officer of Harisinga Revenue Circle Office on charges of graft on Monday. The long time allegations of a section of public that the officials have to be bribed to move any file where proven true after a video of a revenue officer(Lot Mandal) of the Circle Office caught accepting bribe on camera went viral in social media sites. Reportedly, the revenue officer, identified as one Numal Daimari had allegedly accepted bribe of Rs. 10,000 from a person for registration of land.   TANGLA: The Public Health Department of Udalguri has taken up a unique initiative to empower the women of the region by conducting a training programme on Women Mason under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) . The programme was initiated with the help of two Self Help Groups viz.
