BVFCL hikes retirement age to 60

 In a move that brings huge joy to the BVFCL premises, the state owned fertilizer manufacturing unit in Namrup has announced hike of its employees retirement to 60 from the existing 58 years. 

The announcement came up hours after Shyam Deo Singh assumed the charge of Chairman and Managing Director on Saturday. 

" The central Government passed the public Employment ( Regulation of Age of superannuation) Act 1976 enhancing retirement age of BVFCL employee from 58 to 60 years . A long struggle of employees , organization and public demand at last the retirement age of employees of BVFCL extends from 58 to 60 years which is passed by central Government which effect from from 25.9.2017 " said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee (Public Relation Officer ) BVFCL. 

Singh was born I’m 1959 in Parasauni village of Saharsa District Bihar who is basically a chemical engineer from Bihar Institute of Technology (Dhanbad) . He started his service as Asst. Material Officer in HFCL ( Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited)  Barauni and subsequently on transfer he has joined in Namrup Unit in January  2002 as Dy . Material Manager . 

During the tenure of Director ( Production) he was also shouldering the additional responsibilities of CMD of the BVFCL up to 28 .05 .2015. Right from joining as Director ( Production) Shyam Deo Singh has been showing best performance towards all round development of the company .

People in the Namrup daily bazar paid their homage to the Pulwama martyrs.  The programme was organsied by daily bazaar shop keepers assoctiation and local people of the area.
The 11 hour Assam bandh called by North East Students Organization ( NESO ) and All Assam Student Union ( AASU ) , supported by many other organizations opposing the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 was total in Namrup. The town wore a deserted look as vehicles of all kinds remained off the road. Schools and colleges, shops and markets, banks and offices were seen closed. The bandh supporters burnt tyers at Namrup Sonari Tiniali , BVFCL Main Gate , APL Main Gate and Sarmah Tiniali to stop the movement of vehicles.
The Namrup regional unit of All Assam Student Union ( AASU ) organsied protest against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 by blocking the road and burning tyers at Sonari tiniali. The demonstrators shouted slogans against the state and central governments exibiting play card "Kendriya Government Hai Hai, Raijya Sarkar Murdabad, Mukhyamantri kam nai". More than one hundred AASU activists and local people took part in the protest.
The year long Golden Jubilee of Namrup Sahitya Sabha is coming to an end with various cultural programmes. The programme was inagurated by working president Satrasingh Deuri. Seminar, poetry, cultural night, Book release were part of the event.
Namrup: AASU regional Committee observed the Swahid Divas on Monday with hosting of flag in Namrup Sonari Tiniali Swahid Mandap by regional committee president Kalpajit Gogoi. Assam Jatiyata Badi Yuba chatra Parishad , Namrup Tai Ahom Student Union  ,  Fertiliser Workers Union , Fertiliser  Swarmik Union , Gramya Unnayan Sangha etc and schools  and colleges representative took part in the event.
Polling concluded peacefully in the  three  panchayats - Kachari Pathar, Namrup and Santipur Panchayat - with 75 percent voter turnout. Situation became tense when more than 50 voters were deprived from voting in Santipur. 
Namrup: Thousands of people thronged Namrup against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in a protest rally organised by the All Assam Student Unionalong with with 28 other organisations which started from Namrup-Sonari  tiniali. "We totally regret that our Chief Minister and the Prime Minister are playing games with our motherland. It pains to see how the Chief minister keeping  himself mum who once pledge to detect and deport the outsiders" thus reacts All Dibrugarh District Student Union Assistant General Secretary Abani Kumar Gogoi. The largest ancient Hindu festival, dedicated to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya (known to be the wife of Surya), Chhath Puja is unique to the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the country of Nepal. It is the only Vedic festival that is dedicated to the Sun God. The festival was celebrated in Namrup and it's neighbouring area with flavours on Tuesday.  
Namrup: There was total bandh in Namrup during the Assam Bandh called by 46 organisations in the state opposing citizenship amendment Bill 2016. Protesters burnt tyres in BVFCL Main Gate,  Sonari Tiniali, Namghar Chariali, Salibasa. Marketing complex, Schools, colleges, Government and private offices, Banks were all closed during the bandh.
