NSLA cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army in a joint operation managed to arrest an active cadre of NSLA (anti talk faction) from Serfanguri area today in Kokrajhar district. 

The cadre was identified as Robvan Hembram@Chunda. 

A 7.65 pistol and a live bullet was recovered from him.

UPP election rally in Kokrajhar

The United Peoples Party (UPP), a regional party in BTAD region has prepared its strength to contest in the upcoming assembly election fielding 15 candidates including 12 seats of BTAD. 13 fishermen arrested

As many as 13 fishermen were arrested by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday inside deep jungle of Sarpang district of Bhutan while going illegally into the neighboring country. According to a senior police officer in Kokrajhar, thirteen persons from Kachugaon area of Gossaigaon subdivision illegally entered seven kilometers into Bhutan territory to fishing inside deep jungle where they were caught by Bhutan Royal Army on Tuesday and then handed over them to Kokrajhar police. Elderly woman killed in Bijni

Security forces have claimed to capture four militant cadres including a hardcore cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation(KLO) in three different places in Lower Assam’s Kokrajhar and Baksa district on Monday.
