Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

A free eye camp has fetched no less appreciation for the Bodoland Peoples Front(BPF) in Kokrahar. People in large number turned up to the five doctors from Nepal at the free medical camp at Patgaon Bazar on Wednesday. BTC executive member Mono Kumar Brahma inaugurated the camp and he himself also checked up his eyes in the camp. The poor patients got all medicines free of cost who participated in the camp. Kokrajhar based Journalist Jaiklong Brahma was released on bail from Kokrajhar Jail on Thursday. Police have busted a notorious gang of car lifters when three thieves were nabbed in Karbi Anglong districts. Identified as Chemau Kumar Singh,Puyana Nila Kumar and Pangam Pamau Maikel Singh, they were brought to Kokrajhar a day after being captured along with a stolen Bolero from Khotkhoti area near Dimapur on Saturday. The trio had stolen the vehicle bearing registration No AS-16A-4624 from Hatimata area in Kokrajhar on November 25 which belongs to Robin Basumatary. Police investigation started after the owner lodged the FIR with Kokrajhar police and four days after it, Katkoti caught the thieves and recovered the vehicle on Saturday.

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha staged mass dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday reiterating their demands.
