Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

KLO militant surrenders in Kokrajhar

A hardcore KLO militant surrendered before Kokrajhar police on Monday. Identified as Ribu Ram Rai alias Mathura surrendered at the Kokrajhar police station along with his wife Nibedita in the evening. Kokrajhar ABSU is gearing up for the annual conference on Tuesday. The venue is Kazigaon Gurudev Kalicharan Nwgwr in Parbatjhora. 2 injured as MLA's vehicle hits bike

Two persons of a family sustained serious injury when a bolero vehicle driven by West Kokrajhar MLA Pradeep Brahma collided its head on a two wheeler in Kokrajhar on Sunday.   The incident took place in the morning at Kuksi bazar in Dotma on the Serfanguri-Bilashipara road in the district.
