Modi's effigy burnt

Members from Sadou Assam Goria Maria Deshi Jatiya Parsishad protested the decision of the union government to accord citizenship right to Hindu migrants from Bangladesh and burnt effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Baruapara in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. 

The parishad strongly objected and demanded early stop of decision to grant entry and stay right to Hindu migrants in Assam from Bangladesh.

The illegal migrants of Bangladesh irrespective of religion should be sent back to their country. There is no place for Hindu Bangladeshi or Muslim Bangladeshi in Assam.

The Bodoland Territorial Council is unhappy with Rockybul Hussain after the forest minister withdrew the AFPF forces from BTAD areas following the Ultapani incident where suspected NDFB-S militants took away arms from the forces at gunpoint.Speaking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyari said that the government has withdrawn AFPF without any intimation. “Rather the government should have engaged more forces for protection and conservation purpose,” said Borgoyari.He further asked NDFB(Songbijit faction) to return the arms they snatched from the eco task force in Ultapani for the greater interest of protection of forest and wildlife in the Bodoland region.

Despite heavy presence of security forces, a section of armed NDFB-S militants been moving without any hindrance in BTAD areas.Security forces apprehended a hardcore cadre of NDFB(Songbijit) militant during a combing operation in Chirang district on Saturday.  Identified as Heramba Brahma, he was held from Ulubari area under Bijni police station with arms. Despite tight security gun running refuses to die down in Kokrajhar district. Unidentified miscreant shot at yet another person in the district on Friday. The incident took place at Baldiabatan where miscreants shot at a daily wage earner in the afternoon.Identified as Prahald Sarkar, the deceased hailed from Galakganj of Dhubri district who was engaged at a construction site in Baldiabatan.A group of four miscreants started indiscriminate firing as he was standing on the road.  A seriously injury Sarkar was rushed to the Rup Nath Brahma Civil Hospital where two bullets were recovered from his legs.
