His drivers’ voice!

The BTC Unit of All Assam Govt. Driver and Handyman Association alleged exploitation by a section of government officers  along with a circle of powerful political leaders.

The association members jointly held a meeting in Kokrajhar on Saturday where they strongly slammed the officers and leaders alleging torture and exploitation and warned them to stop it.

President of the All Assam Govt. Driver and Handyman Association K Baruagohain said that most of the government officers and political leaders have exercised the driver in their privet effort, where the driver have to exercise over time. The leaders have not attention them in that period fully. He further demanded increase in the grad pay saying that the government should pay Rs. 600 as conveyance allowance and risk allowance in every month.

The Mwihur International Theatre Festival has ended in Kokrajhar, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). The seven-day festival took place at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, Chandamari. The United People’s Party(UPP) candidate  for Kokrajhar east Pratibha Brahma filed nomination papers to the Returing Officer at DC office in Kokrajhar on Monday. With extending support to the United People's Party ahead scheduled Assam assembly election on April 11 next, Rafikul Sheik, vice president of Kokrajhar district committee of AIUDF joined in UPP at a party meeting at Fakiragram under Kokrajhar west LAC in Kokrajhar district on Sunday.  Sheik along with his party supporters joined the party in the presence of huge party supporters and extended supports to the party.  'His joined the UPP party will blow a setback to the AIUDF party', said a political analyst.   

NDFB-S ultra held

Security forces apprehend a NDFB(S) cadre from Basabil area under Gossaigaon PS on Sunday in Kokrajhar district. Based on information about the presence of the militant outfit cadres in the area, a joint team of police and army launched an operation where a listed cadre of Gossaigaon platoon of the NDFB(S) was arrested along with arms. He was identified as Sanjay Narzary of Borsabil village. A pistol, two round ammunition was recovered from him.

BPF leaves three more seats to BJP

The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has left three constituencies- Sorbhog, Rangia and Bhawanipur to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP), its ally party.
