A SensItization Programme on witch-hunting organized by the Assam State Commission for Women drew no less response in BTAD areas on Saturday. It was organized in the conference hall of the District Centre at Kajalgaon in Chirang.
Kalyani Das, representative of the commission said the prevalent practices of witch-hunting and the killings of innocent people after being dubbed as witchs by fellow villegers in the society.
The state wide campaign involves local administration, police, various social activists, eminent people, media persons, Social Welfare department's Supervisors, Anganawadi Workers for generating awareness on it and appealed to all to come forward and create awareness among the masses about this practices.
