Why Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is in a haste to join BJP? Political observers are straight in their comments. He is believed to have unofficially joined BJP in the face of two huge scams that put him in dire straights.
Very recently, BJP parliamentary board called him the key suspect in the Louis Berger scam only a month back. A CID enquiry is in progress which will unearth the real story.
The Central Bureau of Investigation probing the chit fund scam has already grilled Dr Sarma on the basis of the purported letter by Saradha chiefSudipto Sen. CBI has yet to file the charge-sheet.

Now that he joined bjp to save himself for all the scams it will be all the more difficult to prove. He is an opportunist and that's what we don't like. It was bjp who was most vocal about his corruption. Why have they accepted him now? Shouldn't Assam produce more leaders? He already has enough: TV channel, newspaper, guest house, stashed cash and what not. We need honest leaders not tainted. You are spreading the propaganda. Bada aya.

NEW DELHI: The Centre is holding a chief secretary level meeting in Delhi to mend the widening fences between Assam and Mizoram on March 20. Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba will chair meeting to settle the boundary dispute between the two north eastern states in the wake of protests by students. KOKRAJHAR: The Kokrajhar police have detained at least 15 persons for allegedly vandalizing the statute of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee at Rabindra Nagar in Kokrajhar. They were detained after the All India Bengali Youth Students Federation demanded early identification of involved culprits and punished. On the other hand. Assam state BJP party will erect the statute afresh in the same place, party leaders said in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Tuesday night when unidentified miscreants vandalised the statue triggering created anger among all sections of society.Local citizens condemned the incident and demand action against the miscreants.
HAILAKANDI: Unidentified miscreants gangraped and killed a Reang girl inside her house in Hailakandi sending huge wave cinemas of shock and anger across the state on Thursday. The incident of double crime took place at Betchera gaon in Katlichera on Wednesday evening where miscreants were believed to have forcibly stormed in to the house where the Reang girl was inside it in the absence of other family members. After gangraping, the miscreants were believed to have strangulated the girl to death and escaped. Her body was found on Thursday wee hours.Police investigation is underway to nab the perpetrators.
