Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the eviction drive would not halt until and unless the illegalsettlers are not evicted at all.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Gogoi said that not even a single illegalsettlers would be spared. He made it plain and simple that the entire drive against the rampant encroachment in the wetlands and hill tops would be carried out as per the law.
District administration officials told Assam Times that altogether 46 pucca and huts were demolished apart from 21 temples ad mosque and 35 boundary walls to clear 14 bighas of land.

New Delhi: The Centre has withdrawn AFSPA 1958 from 24 districts in view of an improved law and order situation.
According to the notification, it would come into force from April 1,2022.
Apart from the hills districts, AFSPA will be in force in Sivasagar, Jorhat, Tinsukia.
