NIA to probe BTAD violence: Gogoi

The Assam Government has recommended NIA probe into the BTAD violence where at least 33 people were killed.

Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting in Dispur, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that this is a fit case for NIA probe.

Gogoi said that his government has sought extra forces from the Centre apart from Cobra forces to firmly deal with the situation.

Dr MMS is the MP from Assam and he should take the moral responsibilty for the violence. The UPA and state government who had been ruling for the last 10 years must be blamed for such butchery. But Congress sees only shadow of Modi on anything. The Congress leaders leaders who used to revel in the luxury and comforts in Delhi offices were always apathetic towards the violence in Kashmir and  Punjab during the 1970's and 1980's. The secular leaders were more philosohical and much less practical in understanding the problems of people in all parts of the country. There was similar violence in 2012 in NE. Then the government should have take precautionary measures to avert the occurance of similar incidents. When there is NO capable ruler or leader at the centre, the state governments will also follow the anarchy. "Yatha Raja Thatha Praja" means "AS THE RULER SO THE RULED". If the king of the country is of good character, with good heart and always thinking of well-being of his subjects, and if he is a spiritual thinker and peaceful minded, his subjects will be like him in all these ways too

Centre to assist flood hit people

The centre is prepared to provide all assistance to the flood affected people in Assam. Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati told Union sports minister Sarbanada Sonowal that she will request the Home Ministry to release funds under the Central natural calamity assistance funds. The Assam Government has announced the Chief Minister's Police Medal to ten officers and personnel of Assam Police for their outstanding service to the state. CBI raids Focus NE office

A CBI team probing the multi crore Sharada scam raided a private satellite news channel in Guwahati on Thursday. CBI sleuths arrived in the Focus NE office premises in the afternoon and conducted the raid in connection with the multi crore scam. BJP workers seize Nagaland vehicle

BJP workers in Uriamghat seized a vehicle belonging to a top NSCN-IM militant in full view of a CRPF patrolling party on Thursday. The Maruti WagneR bearing No NL 07C 6233 was seized by a group of BJP workers from Chetiagaon at around 2 in the afternoon. Talking to Assam Times, a BJP worker who took the lead to intercept the vehicle said that they came to see the car plying in the troubled –hit area at noon and that as they moved towards the vehicle, three persons managed to escape leaving the car on the road. Some arms have been recovered from the vehicle in question which was later handed over to police. Investigation is going on.

Mammoth security for Independance Day

The Assam government blames it all on the NSCN (IM) escalating tension along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district. Dispur has already sent its report to the Centre saying that the insurgent outfit has been fomenting trouble along the border for the last couple of years.
