Centre to assist flood hit people

The centre is prepared to provide all assistance to the flood affected people in Assam. Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati told Union sports minister Sarbanada Sonowal that she will request the Home Ministry to release funds under the Central natural calamity assistance funds. The assurance figured when Sonowal called on Bharati in New Delhi on Thursday. Sonowal urged her to take urgent steps to give relief to the flood affected people in Assam. He further apprised Bharati of the flood situation in parts of Dhemaji, Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur districts.
