BJP flays DHAC for term extension

The Dima Hasao BJP while opposing the attempt of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council to get its term extended appealed to the people of Dima Hasao irrespective of party affiliation to come forward to foil the autocratic design of Congress.


This was disclosed by Sri Ramkrishna Ghose, National Secretary, BJMM and the in charge of Dima Hasao BJP in a press meet held at the Dima Hasao BJP district committee office on Thursday.


The press meet was attended by Smt Banani Kemprai, President, Dima Hasao BJP district committee, Arun Terang, Vice-President, State BJP ST Morcha and others. The Dima Hasao BJP criticised the present Dima Hasao Autonomous Council for its utter failure in every front in fulfilling people’s aspirations. The people ofDima Hasao district have been deprived of basic amenities right from water supply, medical, road communication etc. They urged upon the people of Dima Hasao in general and both the DHD factions in particular unitedly fight against the Congress party which was not at all in favour of the down trodden people of the district. They further disclosed that the Dima Hasao BJP has already started series of meetings with NGOs; political parties etc. to form a strong opposition against the present DHAC.


Answering the media persons, they categorically said the congress has spoiled the democratic political culture of this hill district, therefore people of this district should be more cautious about the congress’s ‘Hitler’ like attitude.

The Assam Rifles troops averted a major security breach when they recovered and defused a grenade in Haflong town on Friday morning stated AR press release. Troops of Haflong based Assam Rifles unit were on routine area domination patrol when at approx 6 am they found a live hand grenade on the road side near Synod point. The grenade could have caused serious injuries to innocent commuters including women & children including loss of lives.
