Summer adventure camp concludes at Tangla

A four days summer adventure camp organized by Vision and Innovation Society,Tangla in association with 315 Field Regiment (KARGIL) under Red Horns Division concluded at Tangla on July 7. The concluding session was held at Tangla Girls Higher Secondary School at 7 PM. Col.Sashi Commanding Officer of 315 Field Regiment attended the concluding session as chief guest. On the occasion Col.Sashi thanked organizers for arranging the summer adventure camp for school going children at Tangla. He said that his regiment would be happy to do whatever possible for the all round development of the children of the district. DN Hazarika,Circle Officer, Harisinga Revenue Circle,Tangla,senior journalist of the district Keshab Dutta also spoke a few words on the occasion. Participating boys and girls performed cultural items to much delight of the people present.


It needs mention that 17 boys and 4 girls of various schools and colleges in and around Tangla participated in the adventure camp which included trekking,rock climbing, repelling, river rafting,river crossing, monkey crawling, jumaring etc. The adventure training was conducted at Bhairabkunda and Bogamati under the guidance of advance trainer Ajit Singha. Maj. Pradip Sing of Borongajuli Army camp supervised the training programme on all the four days. Speaking to this correspondent trainer Ajit Singha said that Bogamati had been the most suitable place for water rafting and other water sports activities in the state of Assam.

Protesting against sharp price rise of essential commodities in the country,more than five hundred people mostly woman staged dharna in front of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office today on September 2 at 11 am on the day of Bharat Bandh.The protesters blocked the main gate of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office preventing government officials and employees including Additional Deputy Commissioner Udalguri.
