One arrested for creating fake account at a social networking site

A team of CID today arrested one Nekibur Rahman (24) from Mearapani in Golaghat district for allegedly creating a fake profile of State PWD Minister Ajanta Neog on popular social networking site Facebook. A laptop, a mobile phone and SIM card has also been seized from him. The matter came to light when Neog had herself filed a complaint in this regard with the Special Task Force (STF) for investigation. Accordingly STF have registered a case vide case no. STF 7/11. Later STF had handed over the case to CID. A CID team had then contacted Facebook's office on the issue following which the site's head office informed about the place of creation of the fake ID. CID then zeroed on the place and arrested the youth. The boy was taken to Guwahati for further investigation.
