Irate public blocked NH 52 at Dhekiajuli
People of Dhekiajuli suddenly called a total bandh on April 27, protesting against police failure to protect lives and property of innocent people. They also blocked NH 52 disrupting vehicular traffic. According to information, one Badal Dey, owner of Sapteswari hotel of Dhekiajuli had been abducted by suspected extremists on April 16. Again on April 18 another person named Samir Ansari was abducted while he was returning home to Dhekiajuli from Belsiri market. People and members of business community could no longer control their anger at the failure of police to book the culprits. Finding no other means, irrite public decided to bandh Dhekiajuli town and block NH 52 on April 27. Police and Civil officials have rushed to the spot.

Protesting against sharp price rise of essential commodities in the country,more than five hundred people mostly woman staged dharna in front of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office today on September 2 at 11 am on the day of Bharat Bandh.The protesters blocked the main gate of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office preventing government officials and employees including Additional Deputy Commissioner Udalguri.
