Focussing on the theme of the World Anti Child Labour Day on Wednesday Sadau Assam Gramya Puthibharal Santha in association with Childline Sub centre Hojai district organised an awareness program at hall of Srimanta Sankardev junior college of Sankardev Nagar in Hojai.
The programme began with the objectives of the day pointing the theme of this year “ Children should not work in field but in dream” by the district coordinator, Hojai district, Tilaram Orang.
Srimati Beauti Gogi, Legal cum Probationer Officer, district child protection unit, Hojai; Dr. Prodip Kumar Sahoo, the founder of Small Steps (for better future) and Ex Lecturer, Hojai college; Md Mustafa Kamal from Sadau Assam Gramya Puthibharal Santha; Sri Charan Singh Chauhan, Principal of Srimanta Sankardev Junior college; Sri Manuranjan Sarma, Assistant teacher,Sankardev Nagar High School graced the Occasion as guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Srimati Gogi mentioned about child labour and legal related issue with it.
Md Kamal made us aware about Juvenile justice Act, about child rights and the initiative taken by Sadau Assam Gramya Puthibharal Sangha to give shelter to special child of our society.
Dr Sahoo began his speech with a patriotic song for children “Ek Do Ek Do Bdhte Kadam Bharat Maa Ke Bache Hum, Nahi Rukenge , Nahi Jhukenge, Aage Badhte Rahenge Hum, Agee Badhte Rahenge Hum” and shared his experiences of different aspects related to child in our society.
He said about interdisciplinary issues and role of parents, teachers for the well being of our children and to come forward to protect our forth coming citizen for the better future of our country.
In this connection he gave examples of some of ideal personalities of the world to motivate the students of different age groups.
Charan Singh Chauhan praised the initiative of the childlne sub centre for the special day of anti child labour since the children are the future of our country and their protection from every mean is so important.
Manuranjan Sarma who chaired the event concluded with his speech and urged everyone to come together to solve the problem related to the child labour.
Around 260 people including Staffs of Childline sub centre, teachers of Sankardev Nagar High School, Sankardev Nagar jr college and students attended the programme.
Hojai: The countrywide lockdown has hit hard the farmers in Mainapur, Laskharpathar, Bhimarali, Chikarigate, Amtola, Milikbasti, Daryabasti, Nayanpur, Kaki area in the district.
